Mode Apartments provides 12 levels of inner city Brisbane living at its best. Located on Wyandra Street Newstead, Mode Apartments deliver spectacular views from the roof top terrace. Developed by Devine in partnership with Daikyo and built by Devine Constructions, the building consists of 157, one, two and three bedroom apartments over three levels of basement carparking.

The developer’s objective was to deliver a desirable address that appeals to residents and Brisbane apartment investors alike. Close collaboration between McVeigh, the builder and the developer teams within Devine was essential to meet the extremely tight construction program.

The challenge for McVeigh was the construction of the three-storey basement in marine clay below the water table in a dense urban environment. We worked extremely closely with Devine, their preferred retention and dewatering subcontractor, ASP, and Geotechnical Engineers, Butler Partners, to ensure that all the risks associated with the construction of the basement were identified and appropriately assessed and addressed. A hydrostatic basement slab was the only suitable option for the construction of the basement.
