Newstead Central is the development of five 20 storey residential towers located in Newstead with approximately 915 units in total. The development has been split into stages with stages 2 to 5 incorporating the design and construction of a four level basement carpark.

Stage 1 of the project will encompass the implantation of 149 residential units and a single level retail building on the ground floor. The building is eleven storeys of apartment levels plus a rooftop garden and three storeys of screened podium car park. The stage 1 development has been constructed on an existing basement and ground level structure.

The client strived to maximise the success of the project for all parties involved so that the development could set a quality standard for future developments, regarding the time and budget as well as setting a benchmark for future development opportunities.

The site is adjacent to the existing Watpac commercial building and the existing heritage listed Waterloo Hotel, and is subject to a range of existing conditions, including a single level existing basement, its associated structural column grid and driveway entry point, and the existing cross-block-link and prededicated car-parking spaces.
